THE AAIP INVITED NEW CANDIDATES THROUGH THE ALBERTA OPPORTUNITY STREAM

On March 26, 2025, Alberta published an update on the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), providing insight into its current inventory of immigration applications. According to the latest update, the AAIP is actively processing applications across multiple streams:

  • 1,764 applications under the Alberta Opportunity Stream

  • 1,138 applications under the Rural Renewal Stream

  • 386 applications under the Tourism and Hospitality Stream

  • 125 applications under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway

  • Approximately 400 applications under the Alberta Express Entry Stream

  • 24 applications under the Entrepreneur Stream

The AAIP currently has 51,747 expressions of interest in the selection pool across all streams and pathways.

On March 7, 2025, Alberta held a targeted draw under the Alberta Opportunity Stream, inviting 16 candidates who are professionals working in the aviation sector. These candidates needed a minimum score of 56 to qualify for an invitation.

So far in 2025, Alberta has invited a total of 584 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination under all AAIP streams and has issued 1,257 nomination certificates.
