SINP UPDATED ITS EXCLUDED OCCUPATION LIST

In a recent development, the government of Saskatchewan has broadened its list of excluded occupations for the Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry program sub-categories. The update, effective from May 1, 2024, now encompasses 158 occupations, with eight additions to the exclusion roster.

Exciting news emerges for veterinarians and veterinary technicians, as they are now deemed eligible for both the Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry sub-categories, following their removal from the exclusion list.

However, certain professions face ineligibility for the Occupations In-Demand or Express Entry PNP sub-categories in Saskatchewan. These include Sheriffs and bailiffs, correctional services officers, bylaw enforcement officers, estheticians and related professions, transport truck drivers, bus drivers and other transit operators, pest controllers and fumigators, as well as heavy equipment operators. Furthermore, workers in NOC TEER 4 and 5 occupations are excluded from these programs.

It's crucial to highlight that these alterations do not impact eligibility for Federal Express Entry or its criteria. Saskatchewan's Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws are increasingly tailored towards specific occupations and countries, reflecting the province's evolving immigration strategy.

For individuals eyeing immigration opportunities to Canada, particularly through Saskatchewan's PNP, staying abreast of these updates is essential. Whether you're a veterinarian now eligible for SINP programs or exploring other avenues, navigating the immigration process can be complex.
