BC HELD NEW DRAWS UNDER THE BCPNP

On June 25, 2024, the Government of British Columbia conducted the latest rounds of invitation draws under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP), continuing its proactive approach to attracting skilled workers and professionals to the province. These draws were specifically tailored to address critical labor shortages in key sectors such as healthcare, childcare, construction, and veterinary care.

In the general draw, British Columbia invited 35 skilled candidates who met the minimum score requirement of 110 points, reflecting the province's ongoing need for individuals with high-demand skills and qualifications. Concurrently, 6 invitations were extended to early childhood educators (NOC 42202) in the childcare sector, underlining the province's commitment to supporting its education and childcare services through targeted immigration strategies.

The healthcare-targeted draw saw 11 candidates receiving invitations, each scoring a minimum of 106 points, highlighting BC's priority in bolstering its healthcare workforce amid increasing demands for quality healthcare services. Similarly, 11 invitations were issued to candidates with expertise in the construction sector, vital for sustaining the province's infrastructure growth and development initiatives.

Furthermore, up to five invitations were allocated to candidates working in veterinary care occupations, demonstrating British Columbia's recognition of the importance of animal welfare and veterinary services within its communities.

This year alone, British Columbia has already extended invitations to up to 3,534 candidates through the BCPNP, showcasing its commitment to economic growth and diversity through skilled immigration.
